Our Summer Fabrics Guide
As June brings a much needed embrace of radiant sunshine, we're thrilled to dive into the cooling fabrics that breathe well during those sizzling summer days.
This season, we're donning the fresh feels of Linen, Hemp, Modal, Organic Cotton, and Tencel.
Linen
A natural fiber made from the flax plant. Linen has a low environmental impact because the entire flax plant can be woven into a fiber, which means that almost no waste is left from the spinning and weaving process. It's the go-to fabric for hot summer days –– breathable and highly absorbent.
Organic Cotton
Another natural fiber, and ideal for sensitive skin. Organic cotton is hypoallergenic with a very soft touch. Maintenance on this fabric is simple, and always best to hang dry your cotton pieces.
Modal
A plant based fabric made from the cellulose of Beech Trees and synthetic ingredients. Modal has an incredibly soft touch and is very breathable. A great fabric as a summer base layer. Modal is 50% more absorbent than cotton. The fabric is ver4y durable due to a tight weave and its long fibers.
Tencel™
We're obsessed with Tencel branded fibers, and you can see that throughout our collection. This fabric can offer a range of features including botanical origin, long-lasting softness, breathability, and color retention. Need we say more?
Hemp
A high-yield crop that doesn't use a lot of water, which makes it sustainable and renewable. Hemp is three times stronger than cotton. The fabric has antimicrobial and UV resistance. It's naturally resistant to mold, mildew, and rot. Also, Hemp readily takes dyes and softens with each washing without fiber degradation. A fabric that truly gets better with time.
